Shital Chand Bothra expired

Sri Shital Chand Bothra, former president, Azimganj Sri Sangh expired last week. He was 85. He headed Azimganj Sri Sangh for several years and left the post last year succeeded by Sri Bijaypal Singh Bachchhawat. He belonged to famous Bothra family and was son of late Sri Nihalchand Bothra. Sri Shitalchand Bothra was married at Beldanga.

He had two sons Mihirchand and Manichand. Manichand Bothra was a famous Jain singer who expired three years back at young age.

Mohit Bothra, his grand son informed me today that  बारह व्रत की पूजा will be observed on February 27, 2012 at Sri Neminath Swami temple, Azimganj.

Is it Ok to demolish and reconstruct Dadabadi in Azimganj?

Azimganj Jiaganj Murshidabad blog conducted an opinion poll about: "Is it Ok to demolish and reconstruct Dadabadi in Azimganj?" to know the view of Shaharwali prople in general. The poll was open to all and was in ballot.

The poll was open for seven days and was closed yesterday.

Brief summary of the poll as follows:

Total vote caste: 21
Yes: 6
No: 14
No opinion: 1

This shows general mood of Shaharwali people. Less than 30 percent people casted their vote in favor of demolition and reconstruction of Azimganj Rambag Dadabadi whereas 67 percent were against it.

It is advisable for the offfice bearers of Azimganj Sri Sangh to go with public opinion.

Azimganj Sri Sangh organized Shree Neminath Swami Janma Kalyanaka at Shree Neminath Swami Jain temple, Azimganj on sunday, 26 July, 2009. Neminath Swami is the 22nd Tirthankar and the Principal deity of Azimganj.

Mr. Amit, who is with Sadhwi Shree, has informed about the event.

Azimganj Jain Shreesangh organized Dadaguru Mahapoojan

Azimganj Jain Shreesangh organized Dadaguru Mahapoojan at Kolkata Dadabari on 1st of April, 2009। The ceremony was blessed by Rev. Shashiprabha Shreeji Maharaj thana 10.

The ceremony was well organized. Huge fund is collected for jirnoddhara of Azimganj Dadabari.
ceremony was followed by a Sadharmi vatsalya of approximately 1300 Jains as reported by Sunil Churoria, secretary, Azimganj Jain Shreesangh in a telecon।

Sadhwi Shree Shashiprabha Shreeji Maharaj declared that she will observe her Chaturmas 2009, at Azimganj। She will leave Kolkata in June to proceed for her Chaturmas in Azimganj.
